New Version:
MxGPS has been redeveloped to run on the Microsoft .Net Framework. Improvements include:
- Support for newer Garmin GPS units that store data in GPX format
- GPX file import and export capabilities
- Greater flexibility when defining fields for data sent to the GPS
- New context menu in the ArcMap table of contents panel
- Waypoint and Track symbol improvements
- Simplified installation process
System Requirements:
The MxGPS Add-in for ArcGIS 10 requires ArcGIS Desktop (ArcView, ArcEditor or ArcInfo) version 10, the ESRI .NET Support component (included with ArcGIS), and the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 (SP1) (pre-installed on most systems).
MxGPS for ArcGIS 9x requires ArcGIS Desktop (ArcView, ArcEditor or ArcInfo) version 9.2 or above, the ESRI .NET Support component (included with ArcGIS), and the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 (pre-installed on most systems).
Garmin GPS units can be connected using a serial (COM port), USB or as a USB Mass Storage Device. The Garmin USB drivers are required to use USB connected devices.
A Note on Version Numbers:
We have reverted back to using standard version numbers to avoid confusion with ArcGIS version numbers. Previously, the MxGPS version was the minimum version of ArcGIS required. The current version of MxGPS is 2.1
